What A Day!

امروز، روز پرواز بود. ویلیام شتنر به فضا پرواز کرد و من به کتابخانه پرتیکو. امروز اولین روز کاریم به عنوان داوطلب برای نگهداری  از کتایهای فدیمی بود

William Shatner went to space & I went to Portico Library; today was my first day of working as a volunteer in the library.

I learnt about:

-handling fragile and precious books. Taking books out of shelves, cleaning them and getting them ready for repair all required techniques that I now have some knowledge of

-the feel of different types of papers used in different periods and for inserting image

-examples of recycling papers used for binding

-the difference between conservation (focusing on preserving the original book ) and restoration (focusing on putting back to its original features) 

-two different types of binding: Hollow back (A binding that leaves a space between the spine and the cover) and Tight back (A binding that the cover is glued to its back)

-Ideal temperature for conserving the books is 16-19 degree C and humidity of 45-55%

-factors involve in degradation are: light humidity, temperature, air pollution and handling 

 

I am the first volunteer who could take a book out (on trial basis)

I have come to the end of a road. jarofwords.com is now a completed reality, up and running.

During the past few months, I have been working under the watchful eyes of my web design mentor, Mahtab jan, to build a nest for my work. Thanks Mahtab jan for your support.

My book Bazgasht (Homecoming) together with some of my other artworks can now be purchased through jarofwords.com. The site also has a library, where you can find links to some of my writing and some classic, royalty free masterpieces. You can visit the gallery at your own leisure and also see pictures of the past events run by jarofwords.com. A very unique feature of this website is its Hot Seat Guests. These are inspirational people around me who talk about what motivates them and how they overcome hurdles in life.

بازگشتِ بازگشت

 

I am proud to announce that Dr. Mahmood Kavir has accepted to write an intro for the second edition on my book, Bazgasht. I am correctly working on the second edition and soon the PDF version would be available from jarofwords.com

چند روز پیش یکی از دوستان (همایون عزیز) را بعد از مدتها دیدم. از حال و احوالم پرسید و من هم از اینکه روی چاپ دوم کتاب بازگشت کار می‌کنم به ایشان گفتم. تشویقم کردند و پیشنهاد دادند تا از اهل قلمی که کتاب را خوانده بخواهم تا مقدمه‌ای برای چاپ دوم بازگشت بنویسد.

ایده بسیار جالبی بود. به دکتر کویر فکر کردم. البته می‌دانستم که جناب دکتر کویر سرشان شلوغ است و احتمالا نخواهند توانست اینکار را انجام بدهند ولی باید می‌پرسیدم.

امروز تلفنی با جناب دکتر کویر صحبت کردم و خواسته‌ام را بیان کردم. نوبت پاسخ گرفتن رسید. قلبم تند تند می‌زد و وقتی ایشان گفتند که قبول زحمت می‌کنند نفس راحتی کشیدم.

گفتند همه سرشان شلوغ است. خود شما هم سرتان شلوغ است. و من کیف می‌کردم که می‌توانم چاپ دوم بازگشت را با مقدمه دکتر محمود کویر به بازار عرضه کنم. این خبر چنان ذوق‌زده‌ام کرد که تصمیم گرفتم با شما نیز آنرا شریک شوم.

پس قرار ما: به زودی چاپ دوم بازگشت با مقدمه‌ی جناب دکتر کوبر به صورت پی‌دی‌اف در وب‌سایت سبوی سخن در دسترس علاقه‌مندان قرار خواهد گرفت.هوراااااااا

آقای آفاق نان تازه از تنور درآمده را آهسته از وسط دوتا کرد. احتیاط وسواس-گونه‌اش برای مراقبت از مستقیم بودن خط برش نان هم‌زمان با واکنش غیرارادی دستانش به داغی نان از چشم همکارش که پشت سر او ایستاده بود مخفی نماند.

"آفاق جان، سنگای پشت نون رو هم بپا" بعد زد زیر خنده.

آقای آفاق نگاهی به همکارش کرد، آهی کشید و گفت. "سنگک هم سنگکای قدیم! تنور سنگک هم تابع مد روز شده. سنگش کجا بود رفیق؟"

همکارش که نان خود را تحویل می‌گرفت با گفتن "جوانی کجایی که آفاق باز یادت کرده" خنده کنان به سمت مینی‌بوس رفت.

Volatile Stillness expresses the unstable nature of the lack of motion. Variables such as place of birth, class division and gender are often used to condemn people to a predefined rigid way of life. Volatile Stillness with subtle hints displays a paradoxical account. Contrary to common belief, movement out and away from the sources of prejudice is our right. Our life and serenity depends on movement. Stillness, even assuming it is possible on a moving planet, is extremely volatile in nature. Shots are taken in Manchester, London and Mashhad.

سکون فرار نگاهی گذرا به زیبایی های دیداری و شنیداری است. در سکون فرار، حرکت به عنوان منبع زندگی، عشق، زیبایی و خلاقیت نشان داده شده و ماهیت ناپایدار سکون به تصویر کشیده می شود. فاکتورهایی مانند محل تولد، تقسیم بندی طبقاتی و جنسیت که اغلب برای محکوم کردن افراد به چهارچوبی محدود و از پیش تعریف شده استفاده می شوند در سکون فرار با اشاراتی ظریف زیر سوال برده می شوند. برخلاف تصورات متعصبانه، حرکت و دور شدن از منابع تبعیض نیاز به صدور اجازه دیگران ندارد. زندگی و آرامش به حرکت بستگی دارد. سکون، حتی با فرض اینکه در یک سیاره در حال حرکت امکان پذیر باشد، ماهیتی بسیار بی ثبات دارد. تصاویر فیلم در منچستر، لندن و مشهد گرفته شده.

پایان خوانش شاهنامه

 

فردوسی روز پایان سرایش شاهنامه را ۲۵ اسفند اعلام کرده (۲۵ اسفند به تاریخ باستانی = ۱۹ اسفند به تقویم خیامی).
در کارگاه شاهنامه‌خوانی دوستان شاهنامه ما هم در ۲۵ اسفند موفق به پایان خوانش شاهنامه شدیم.
